We know how it goes; when the craving for cake hits, it hits hard. If you’re doing your best to stay sugar-free, then having a deliciously-moist, guilt-free cake recipe on-hand is essential. Luckily this recipe is so quick and easy, it’s ready in less time than it would take to hop in the car and go buy a sugary fix.
How to make moist chocolate hazelnut mug cake
What you’ll need
2 Tablespoons coconut flour
1 Tablespoon almond flour
1 Tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 Heaped tablespoon xylitol (or sweetener of your choice)
½ Teaspoon baking powder
2 Tablespoons milk (coconut milk/almond milk)
2 Tablespoons melted coconut oil
1 Tablespoon yoghurt (your favourite brand)
12 drops Flavour Nation Hazelnut flavouring
Pop the coconut flour, almond flour, cocoa powder, xylitol and baking powder in your mug and stir.
Add in the egg, milk, coconut oil, yoghurt and drops of Flavour Nation flavouring. Stir until everything is well-combined.
It’s now time to microwave your mug mixture for about 3 minutes on high. All microwaves differ, so keep an eye on it. Remove from the microwave and wait a few minutes before getting stuck in – it’ll be shoo-shoo hot!
Optional: For a lovely moist icing, top with a tablespoon or two of vanilla yoghurt immediately after removing from the micro. Enjoy!
